• Online Registration :
was in fact done through Email. It went smoothly Helena being very efficient and complacent. Application was airmailed to organization and acknowledgment PDF file was sent back to us as approval. Registration payment was at Bank window upon Bib pick up.
• Lodging :
I have early on contacted Kay, owner of a B&B via @mail explaining why and when we were coming. She agreed on booking us . Our Stay being paid Cash upon check out.
• Expo : No really an expo , more a corner at the Standard Chartered Bank where we could buy a Cotton T-shirt & a wrist Band the very same morning you gonna race. Keep in mind that all money, registration Fees and Shirt go to a Charity. Pick up Bibs by showing your printed approval. You will also be handed a Personal Invitation to join Governor ‘s reception hold the Day after race . For Info; the Governor is a Marathon runner as well … a fast runner that you will be able to spot during the week doing his recovery run or daily routine. No need of ID
• Race day :
30 mn before race , a briefing is held in Town hall with is next to the bank .Weather conditions explained as well as traffic safety … Route and Water and Sport Drink stops shown to us via a Video projection. Personal Bags can be left there Town hall being locked during the event.
• Route :
Out and Back from Stanley. Green as green can be Mount Pleasant at this time of the year. Scenic with only 60 participants you can enjoy a long lone run or chat for 10 km with some relay runners … that’s what i did. Last bit of the race has been windy but was mild according to locals.
• Finish line : Same as Starting line behind the Town Hall. Some solid food and hot drinks where waiting for us inside the bank where we collected a Solid Finisher’s Medal.
Week later we will collect Finisher’s certificate and race’s DVD. The World`s Southernmost AIMS certified
