Run 1/2 Marathon
Name  Marseille – Cassis
City  Marseille
State  13
Country  France
Registration  Online
Transportation Free ride the subway
Lodging  my choice would be  ETAP HOTEL Marseille Vieux Port
Comments This is my 4 th edition and other the years;
things have improved even if rain has spoiled 2010 event.
Marseille-Cassis is very popular so you will need to register fast.
Well located, easily reached by subway, the Expo draws a fair amount of stands.

Once There; First submit your medical certificate .
Second pick up you Bib , T-shirt and Goodies Bag .

If you have been smart enough, you had reserved your transportation back to Marseille online.
If not drop by the transportation stand
The 2011 new highlight: a free boat ride back to Marseille.

If you are a -2h30 runner, make sure you get the first trip,

it will give you the opportunity to get out of the overcrowded Cassis village and would still allows you to enjoy a well deserved lunch around Marseille port .

That is at least what my wife and I did.

Sure 2011 weather has been ideal .

The Starting line can be reached by subway …
A free day pass will be provided in your goodies bag .
Drop off at station St Marguerite Dromel on Line 2 then just go with the flow

There, you will be able to leave your belongings,
However the drawback here is that they seems to be very strict with the type of bag and weight
No personal backpack nor suitcase would be allowed.
only the official plastic bag with your bib number on it, 2kg max
If the course is beautiful; it has become over-congested.
So place yourself front if looking for a PB.
During run, plenty of Water is provided, bit of solid by the end.
Passed the finishing line, your way to bag collection can be a challenge,
if weather allows it, Relax, take your time, have a swim or take the boat ride back to Marseille along the famous calanques
If it rains, get yourself ready for Chaos.

Bottom line:
even with their lousy T Shirt. M/C is a must run
