The race has waves starts Half Marathon start times are staggered according to our estimated time 8.00am = 2.30hrs plus 8.15am = 2.01 – 2.29 hrs 8.35am = 1.46 – 2.00 hrs 8.55am = 1.25 – 1.45 hrs 9.15am = Under 1.25 hrs 9.30am = All 10km Run and Walk Entrants Miyuki estimated her time as 2:10: I wrote down 1:52 That has been a great run … once again we discovered a place we wouldn’t have had the opportunity to run by ourself thanks to the Nelson Striders The philosophy of running without any time devices is a great idea … It lets et you enjoy mind free the nice scenery and …. Helps you to stay focused … Remember Wild Boar hanged around !! Great event very well organized by a sweet caring volunteers team and race directors… We learned about the Post Race Party at Wakatu Hotel just after the run we didn’t know our exact running time and had plenty of spare time before driving to the next town,so we decided to give it a go Prizes & Prizegiving were as follow : Trevor Ruffell Tusk Trophy (the Boar’s Jaws) for Closest Finisher to Estimate in Half Marathon event. Top 10 closest to estimate – Half Marathon Top 10 closest to estimate – 10km PLUS – Spot Prizes I was surprised when they called my name .. I was 12 seconds away from my estimated time … Being slow and being rewarded by a Piece of Meat … A Pure Joy …. |
